Reflexology Gentle Touch
Linda Battman
Reflexology is a particular form of massage which involves working gently with the thumbs and fingers on the feet (or hands) to activate the healing powers of the body, making it one of the most natural of all the natural healing therapies.
The feet and hands contain reflective (reflex) points that link to every organ and area of the body; by means of applying subtle touch to the whole foot (or hand) it is possible to tap into a complex series of messages which appear to be received and transmitted from specific locations throughout the body.

Preventative Treatment
We are now becoming more aware of the need to take responsibility for our own health, the main areas in which this has been encouraged are to have a healthy diet, take regular exercise and make time to relax. Reflexology is relaxing and can help to keep the body systems running in harmony, maintaining good health.
History
An early recording of a pressure therapy similar to Reflexology was found in an Egyptian tomb drawing dated 2330 BC. It has been used by the Ancient Chinese, American Red Indians, and Primitive African Tribes, more recently Russia, France and Germany have been involved in research projects. A conventional Reflexology treatment can be very painful, in 1986 Patricia Morrell developed more subtle techniques, reducing pressure to a level that produces no discomfort and is pleasurable to receive.
The Morrell Method has been successfully used in Hospital research.
